Engineering in wood

With our exacting standards of production and high quality of finishing, it is no surprise to us that some of our customers have likened our work to precision engineering!

As such we have started to produce items for some companies that fall outside of the usual work associated with this trade.  Examples so far include precision mouldings for carbon-fibre brake testing equipment, used by the Lotus Formula 1 team, and large bespoke jigs for concrete pillars on a huge industrial complex in Yorkshire.

Each job in this area presents its own set of challenges but on each occasion we have been able to not only meet the requirements but, in most cases, exceed them, delivering the end result on time and to the specifications requested.

Whilst we realise this is not an entirely new area of work, we feel as a company we can bring a whole new level of professionalism and expertise to a job.  Our ability to think outside the box allows us to come up with solutions where others have failed and our ability to work to tight deadlines, sometimes with very little notice, gives us a degree of flexibility that few can match.

Contemporary

You might like a contemporary style of furniture if you like to keep current with styles, enjoy things that are modern, or simply prefer clean lines and finishes as oppose to more rustic or traditional styles.

While it's been thought that modern interiors are cold and minimalist, today's contemporary interiors are comfortable and welcoming without being cluttered and dark. It's a style that is equally appropriate for offices and stores, lofts and homes.

Smooth, clean, geometric shapes are essential for contemporary style furniture.  Furniture pieces should be simple and uncluttered, without curves or decoration.

Elite Woodwork can produce work based on ideas that you supply.  Alternatively if you give us a basic brief we can suggest designs to suit your taste and tailor them specifically to your requirements.  With so many materials and finishes to choose from, the possibilities are endless and we can ensure you end up with a result that truly satisfies exactly what you need!

Traditional

Traditional style homes feel comfortable for any age group. It's a familiar look that you'd see in magazines or furniture show rooms. A traditional room is not a place to showcase a piece of modern art or stainless steel furniture!

Wood furniture will usually have a mix of straight and curved lines. There may be light carving details as well. While wood pieces will often be finished with darker stains, a traditional room might also use lighter woods as long as the lines of each piece are classic. 

Elite Woodwork specialise in creating traditional styles from scratch, or restoring existing pieces back to their former glory.  Examples might include sash windows, doors, exterior gates, staircases and furniture pieces.  Using a combination of both modern and traditional techniques we are able to produce work of the highest quality and to the exact requirements of the customer.  We have also worked in partnership with other trades on large scale projects such as kitchens and conservatorys.  Some examples are shown below and a full portfolio is available upon request.
